Ramadan Meal Program

Ramadan 2017 will begin in the evening of Friday May 26 and ends in the evening of Saturday June 24.

How to Sign-Up 

  • Download & Complete: Ramadan Meal Program Contract  
  • Visit the dining hall in-person with your completed and signed contract or email gabriel.siu@sfu.ca your completed and signed contract or call (778) 782-7083 to enroll over the phone 
  • Cancelling the same day will count as a missed meal 
  • Complete the food safety/dietary needs form 
  • Pay deposit of $30 cash (refundable*) 
  • Pick-up Ramadan To-Go Meals from cashier between 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. beginning May 26 

Packed meals will include: 

  • 1 pack of dates (4-5 dates per person in a cookie bag) 
  • 2 different re-heatable meals (see sample menus below) 
  • 2 bottled beverages (choice of juice, water, or soda) 
  • 1 carton of milk 
  • 1 whole fruit (apples, oranges, bananas, pears, etc.) 
  • 1 dessert (cookies, brownies, cereal treats, fruit cups, etc.) 
  • 1 bread (dinner rolls, sliced bread, naan, pita, etc.) 
  • 2 utensil packs and extra napkins 
  • 1 yogurt cup 

NOTE: All items go in carry-out bag ready for pick-up between 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Meal #1: Bagels, Cheese Omelet, Fruit Salad or Sliced Fruit
Meal #2: Lemongrass Chicken Rice Bowls w/ Vegetables 

Tuesday
Meal #1: Grilled Chicken & Falafel, Hummus, Grilled Vegetables and Pita Bread x2, Fruit Salad or Sliced Fruit
Meal #2: Halal Beef Moussaka with Tomato and Cucumber Salad and Bread Sticks. 

Wednesday
Meal #1: Two English Muffin Egg and Cheese Sandwiches, Fruit Salad or Sliced Fruit
Meal #2: Butter Chicken, Basmati Rice, Broccoli, Naan 

Thursday
Meal #1: Breakfast Burrito with Egg, Cheese, and Potato, Fruit Salad or Sliced Fruit
Meal #2: Halal Lamb Tagine, Couscous and Pita Bread 

Friday
Meal #1: Large Salads with Chicken, Chips, Fruit Salad or Sliced Fruit
Meal #2: Coconut Chicken Curry, Rice and Vegetables 

Saturday
Meal #1: Santa Fe Chicken Wraps, Tri-color Tortilla Chips w/ Salsa
Meal #2: Korean Beef Bulgogi and Vegetable Stir-Fry Noodles 

Sunday
Meal #1: House Salad w Chix-peas and Feta Cheese, Hard-boiled Eggs, Tabbouleh and Seasoned Pita Chips with Fruit Salad or Sliced Fruit
Meal #2: Chili, Side Salad, and Bread
